Some states don’t recognize common law marriage.
As for that buying the cow when you get the milk free that is about as sexist as you can get. Calling a woman a cow that gives milk (a woman giving sex) implies it’s only for the man and not for her as well. She’s giving and he’s taking. That’s a load of garbage.
Macushlalondra, that comment may not be quite as sexist as it seems. There’s a saying: A man tends to offer a romantic relationship for sex; a woman tends to offer sex for a relationship. They are each getting something out of their life together–but it panders more to the man’s desires–besides not being healthy for either.
