this go-round with Liza and Dorothy with more and more excuses reminds me of a campfire song which begins:“Henry fetch me some water!”with Henry ALWAYS coming up with an excuse not to complete the chore.
Multiple verses, depending on the imagination [and stamina] of the song leader:“With what shall I fetch it, dear Liza, dear Liza, with what?“With a bucket, dear Henry, dear Henry, with a bucket!”“There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza, a hole.”
Each time Liza offers steps to remedy the situation, Henry comes up with another excuse and another and another and so on.
Ultimately , Liza says “With water, dear Henry, dear Henry, with water!”“With what shall I fetch it, dear Liza, dear Liza, with what?“With a bucket, dear Henry, dear Henry, with a bucket!”“There’s a hole in the bucket, dear Liza, dear Liza, a hole.”
At that point, the whole group is expected to groan loudly, “Not again!”
It doesn’t matter what the man’s name is, as long as the woman’s name is Liza. And Sesame Street did a great version of that song once, that’s where I Iearned it.

Whew! Dorothy’s opinion of Jane! I guess that’s why they have shrinks.

Harry Belafonte and Odetta did a version of that song back in the 60s.
