“theft” may have been too strong of a word, however, it was a played out as a lesson on not accepting accountability (for returning the pet) and being rewarded for selfishness (getting to keep the pet) I also think the teacher should have been more insistent in having the class pet returned. {This is probably why my friend, a 3rd grade teacher, only keeps butterflies, which then get released to the wild)

So the kids get rewarded for basically stealing the class pet? I’m surprised the other kids weren’t bugging them to bring Fredrick back to class.
