In one “Jack Benny Program,” Jack was ordering oysters in a restaurant, and Frank Nelson was the waiter::Frank: “A half-dozen or a dozen?”Jack: “A dozen.”Frank: “Fried or on the half shell?”Jack: “On the half shell.”Frank: “Blue Points or Olympias?”Jack: “Olympias.”Frank: “Male or female?”Jack: “How can you tell if an oyster is male or female?”Frank: “We look at their driver’s license — I knew you’d ask!”

Unless it’s the absolute worst service you’ve ever had in your life, not leaving a tip is shameful. Typically, servers don’t make much money via their hourly wage and are dependent on tips to help make up the difference, and the work is exhausting, especially if you have to deal with rude or ungrateful customers.

The waiter ASKED! for a tip! Talk about “rude!” Yeah, I’d leave a “tip” – buy ‘Google.’

All this talk about tips is reminding me of the opening scene of Reservoir Dogs.

Three great gags in one short strip. This ones been around several times. I still laugh at it.

Was this customer a bank manager or boss in a previous strip?

If Jeff were a nurse at least he could claim to be wearing sanitary shoes.

This restaurant scenario reminded me of another Myron Cohen joke. In this one 4 customers go into a restaurant and order food and some drinks. As the waiter is leaving one says to him to be sure to bring his drink in a clean glass. The waiter returns and serves the food and just before parceling out the drinks asks, OK which of you wanted his drink in a clean glass.
