Coming Soon 👀 At the beginning of April, you’ll be
introduced to a brand-new GoComics! See more information here. Subscribers, check your
email for more details.
So, it looks like we will try a caption contest. I will post art on Friday (great idea) and the same image will run through the weekend, soliciting caption ideas from whoever wants to participate. Please follow one little rule and just let everyone know it’s a caption, not just a comment.
On Monday, I will get back to my usual “stuff” and I will begin sorting out the caption ideas.
Would you all like to vote on the top 3 ideas or do you want me to pick one or do you have any other ideas for selection?
Please advise with all due haste and so forth…
and so on…
And thanks for reading this Mother’s Day cartoon!
The New Yorker’s weekly caption contest here lets readers submit a caption, and lets readers vote on the top three. Sounds like a lot of work for you (or your hired minions), but …
Looks like we have a sort of consensus. I’ll pick what I think are the top 3 captions and then you guys can vote by commenting here.
I’d love to make it like a New Yorker contest, but I have only one minion for this – me – and he’s not that reliable.
Anyway, the whole idea is to have fun. so look for this Friday’s art work and start thinking about what I should create… no, wait, that’s my job. Okay, I’ll think about what I should create…
Anyway, we should have a good time. I only ask you use good judgment, no “bad” words and no snarky comments about other readers. If you get political here, your caption will be disqualified – even if I secretly agree – just because this cartoon is suppose to be a vacation from all the political madness…
Thom, I completely agree with you about all the political garbage, even if I agree as well. But there are those who will put a politcal spin on a strip even when there’s nothing polical about it. Sometimes – or most of the time, a comic strip is just a comic strip.
THOM, I look forward to this Friday. And thank you for eliminating political comments from here. This isn’t an editorial cartoon. You’re the best bird brain there is. ;-)
