Just don’t fall for the hype and BUY all that kid stuff — all those strollers, clothes, toys, toys, toys, silly safety gadgets. Stick with the basics. Carry the kid instead of confine/stroll them. It’s an income-sucking industry that people in our over-consumerist society fall for much too easily.
You need to open up your “world”. You have a roommate. Tell us his name. What does he do? How do you share the bathroom? The kitchen? The living room? How does he get along with a couple in the next room. Does HE bang the headboard? How would HE handle a baby in the house? How about your family? Your wife’s family? There’s more to the story than just you contemplating your navel, waiting for inspiration to strike, or your hair follicles having a conversation. Make this interesting.

Poor Beardo, if everyone waited to have children until they could afford them there’d be no danger of overpopulation.
