Pretty long. The only leaded gas sold in the USA since January 1, 1996 is aviation fuel for propeller aircraft – none for on road vehicles. I don’t think this particular story arc is that old, though. Maybe Paige and Beta Jane got confused with all their time travel.
And speaking of updates…. Alexi…. Paige said …. she didn’t promise, that the flashbacks would end February 5th or 6th of last year.
Obviously, they didn’t.
She has a day job…. actually a LOT of day jobs rolled into one…. with constantly changing demands, at Charles Schulz Creative Associates.
On top of that she produces her own paying work, including Jane in book form.
Jane’s World is an offshoot of the latter…. a webcomic, so a labor of love, not money.
Sometimes she has time to work on it, sometimes she doesn’t…. and when she doesn’t, she runs flashbacks, which I, and many others, still enjoy.
Read what she gives us, if you like it…. and when she has time, I’m sure she’ll get back to new episodes, cos she enjoys it, but not because she “promised.” She can’t possibly promise.
And AFAIK, she rarely gets a chance to read this forum.
I was just thinking ‘nice outfit, Chelle’, at least she’s wearing a helmet. Tight jeans, a tank top and with her bust (at least an E cup) she’s going to be noticeable…
Made me shiver. I remember seeing a guy with a full-body road rash in the Williams, AZ hospital. Nothing broken, but he laid his bike down on the shoulder of 66, in a part of the country where the gravel is usually volcanic cinders (think foamed glass).

Maybe it’s a dream landscape, from some forgotten corner of Paige’s memory, or an old sketchbook…and she didn’t think to update the gas pump.
Maybe it represents the outlaw nature of the Arizona desert…. or it’s just an iconic symbol of an old-fashioned road trip. Or an oopsie.. LOL.

Wow! Travel times in the Southwest are nothing like back east.

Maybe the leaded gas pump is at a place that peddles nostalgia, and the station is basically a ‘Route 66’ souvenir shop.
