That sounds like Twain. He was also a cat lover.

Wasn’t it also Twain who came up with a plan for the improvement of English spelling, that resulted in a language that was completely incomprehensible?

Ive noticed something about Garfield. In all the strips Jon is smiling until the last one where Garfield makes his punchline. Or vice versa.
