I think Letterman broadcast the weather (in Indianapolis, where he worked alongside Jane Pauley), but wasn’t an actual meteorologist. He came to the job through the show biz door, not the science door…
Letterman and Pauley were on different stations, and I’m not sure their medium-market careers overlapped. I was a kid in the area at the time, and I remember her, but don’t recall ever seeing him.
