I think it’s refreshing that Herb feels comfortable talking to his pastor and making light. He’s only quoting W.C. Fields, and cleaned up the language. Joe-Allen “Joe” Doty - if you keep your pastor up on that pedestal, you will be sorely disappointed someday.

Laugh! Enjoy!. Christ himself laughed and taught through humor and wit - it wasn’t all red ink holy.

Written in the spirit of agape.

Joe, the heretical Bible “scholar” who believes that Jesus was not God manifest in the flesh, but that he received the “Christ” spirit somewhere in the spirit world…

Believe what and how you will, Joe-Allen. I agree with Doctor Toon - and will not bicker. What made me post yesterday was the way you SEEMED to infer that Herb was condemned by using gentle humor to succor his pastor. It is between the pastor and his God as to whether he condemned himself by appplying for bishop; it is up to Herb and his pastor to determine how they will interact with each other.
