“Recycled” is probably better terminology, Pastor John. “Resurrected” implies that it died the first time.

When my dad was an active minister (now retired), he had what he called his “sermon barrell” which he used for those times when he was up against his Saturday night deadline.

Eons ago, I had to write technical reports and memos to document/explain/cover my org’s butt, er activities. I’d talk over the current crisis with Boss and then sit down at the keyboard of my memo machine and start blathering techno-speak, flavored with bureaucrat crap. It seemed to work. All the I’s were crossed and T’s dotted so the bean counters were satisfied. I still have an ingrained distaste for auditors.

When I wrote technical papers in the 1980s, I could use Unix tools to tell me exactly for what level of education it was written. It also gave me a detailed breakdown of the readability with various grammatical parts of speech identified.
