You’d be surprised what a difference a tree can make.

Clearly a cynic. Our yard is now populated by trees that were brought home at pencil-lead thickness from school by our children. Takes time, which our hurried world often doesn’t want to do.

    Ahhh, trees…

They give us green in a grey city. They give us shadow in a sunny day. They give us the orange colors of autumn.

It’s a shame people don’t appreciate those small gifts of life…

Hey, move that tree back from the sidewalk! In10 years it will buckle the pavement.

Here in Phoenix most trees grow far faster than I expect or prefer. Shortly after moving, I planted a 3’ pine tree to decorate for Christmas and it is now over 2 stories (I stopped decorating when it exceeded 8’). My next house will just have fruit trees and shrubs (except for anything existing that is nice). I had this yard declared an official habitat for wildlife (mostly birds and butterflies – water features are important too in the desert especially).

99 more and you have compensated for the effluent of one fossil-powered car.

Especially in a city, trees are important.

Birds are very important to humans and bees are pollinators and sadly missed in many areas. So keep planting the trees and the flowers…..
