Right Ben_David… a Ford ad says it has zero emissions I wonder about the coal power plant that produces the electricity to charge the batterys…

poppy:I think about it this way: Gasoline= Energy: to search for oil transport crude refine crude ship gasoline Electricity= mine coal transport coal burn for electricity Probably missed something, but the point is that electrcity has a myriad of uses and we are going to produce it anyway. Most of the activities concerned with producing coal can be done with electricity, including transportation. Most mines are already electric and compressed air produced by electritity. The trains are electric already, just need the overhead wires to power them instead of diesel. Coal burning plants are clean, except for carbon dioxide, which has not been proven to be harmful. Yes, I know the “Greeners” eyes blinked open on that statement, but I believe it! I drive a Prius.

What environmental damage was created making that battery? What are the plans for disposal (Yucca Mts)? Why don’t these $3,000,000 energy efficient buses have solar panels? Why do people insist on living 45 miles from their jobs? Oh yeah, so their family can have their half acre far removed from us urban ethnic folk they care about.. Go liberals. Drive your Smart Car till an 87 Caddy bumps into you on our streets and you don’t know if you can get out of the crumpled wreck or if you dare to in my neighborhood.

Well said JDG …. A lot of power in the western US is hydro-electric and there are nuclear plants too. I think big solar plants are in the future with new tech

Um, lewreader, what the hell does being a “liberal” have to do with anything else you said? You’re angry about too many things at once to make much sense. Take a few deep breaths, my friend.
