Silly witch!

C’mon now, let’s get it right!

This really is NOT Kansas.

Throw a bucket of water on the old witch.

If the skywriter doesn’t get the message right, she doesn’t get paid. And she does get a verbal whupping from the aggrieved client, Lio.

Was this to be a Valentine’s Day surprise for his sweetie, Eva? Or just a generic, every-day love-note?

Old habits die hard for the witch.

Also, I’ve heard that much of Kansas is lovely, and hope to see it for myself someday. (Oz author L. Frank Baum based his view of Kansas off his own experiences in South Dakota, and thus should be taken with a grain of salt.) Any state that can give us William Allen White, Bill James and Rich Mullins can’t be all bad.

kansas IS pretty. it’s just rather FLAT. i mean the contour of the landscape reportedly as a child riding in a car from california to my new home in Ohio i demanded to know who ironed the ground! poor witch though. No good deed goes unpunished!

I don’t know - I think “surrender Dorothy” might be more Eva’s speed.

Now Eva’s going to think Lio is two-timing with some girl named Dorothy…

Speaking as a native Kansan, I can’t deny that most of Kansas is pretty flat. However, it really isn’t much flatter than many other states. Most people only see KS on I-70, and that route is pretty flat and boring. The eastern portion of the state has rolling hills, plus more annual rainfall than the western portion. The panoramic views of the sunsets & interesting cloud formations are awesome. For example, my avatar was taken while I was standing in our yard.

@Rmom - “interesting cloud formations”? like the swirly ones that look like an old ad for some cleaning product? :)

I’ve always wanted to visit Kansas and vicinity - but if I do, I plan to avoid the season when the weather gets “interesting”…

zev.farkas - Believe it or not, but tourism in KS picks up during tornado season. Actually, it isn’t that bad, as long as you have a weather radio to tell you when you need to head for cover. The thunderstorms that produce hail and/or tornadoes are very neat to watch from a safe distance.

He should have hired Broom Hilda.

Kansas is flat except they built UK on the only hills in the state. Try walking to the dorms on a hot summer day after classes in the “lower”…Witch can’t seem to get Dot out of her mind. Wonder if there’s an afterschool special in there somewhere.

Does anyone agree with me that the Mormon temple in Kensington, Maryland (called as the Washington D.C. Temple) looks like the Emerald City? There had/has been some “Surrender Dorothy” pish-posh there.

I live about 8 blocks from Kansas so anytime I feel like it I can run over there. Of course, there’s no THERE in Kansas…….And the most famous Kansan of all was Einsenhower. (We in Missouri have Mark Twain, Walt Disney, Walter Cronkite, Jesse James, Harry Truman……..and so forth.)

Let’s mislead an entire generation of children, that science and religion are equivalent explanations of the world around us.

Isn’t that the premise of ‘What’s the Matter With Kansas’?
