I heard tell that that actually happened in a minor league game. The field was in such bad shape after a rain that the area out in front of home plate was a mass of mud. A batter bunted the ball into it and circled the bases before it could be dug out.

Last night A Royals batter got 2 bases on a bunt, and the runner on second scored..
