    At the end of Blue Thunder, the helicopter was set down on train tracks. It was knocked apart in the crash but it wasn’t technically an explosion (no parts exceeded the speed of sound). I say it still counts, though.

    SkyFisher: Not part of the definition. An explosion is an oxidation more rapid than burning.
