Jazmine: Watch your step, Huey! Huey: Why? Jazmine: Earthworms. After it rains they end up on the sidewalk. People don't look and end up squishing them. I like to pick them up and put them back in the grass. Huey: That's very benevolent of you... Jazmine: Here you go Mr. Worm. Go back to your worm family. Huey: Look. There's a stranded slug... Jazmine: Bleaaach!! I'd never touch a slug!! Huey: Hmmm. Selective salvation. You may have a bright future in foreign policy. Jazmine: Worms are cute. Slugs are just gross.

Boy Jazmine, you sure have some double standards.

In this case, I think Huey has a very strong and valid point.

My kids pick up worms and slugs and spiders and centipedes and tiny toads and any other creature they can get their hands on. We saw a slug the size of my thumb down by the Mighty Susquehanna yesterday. I took a picture of course, to go with my pictures of spiders, frogs and toads, other assorted creatures and my selfies. I wonder why my wife never wants to see my photos?

My foreign policy isn’t selective. Bring all our troops home. Reassign to Army Corps of Engineers & Navy SeaBees & fix our roads & bridges & ports.
