I dunno…that’s probably the warmest smile he’s seen on her face in decades. Maybe he should rethink his rethinking…he might actually end up with a happy marriage.
Maybe Blanche did that on purpose because she didn’t want him around the house that much. I have known a lot of couples that after they retire and start spending a lot of time together, they drive each other crazy and end up getting a divorce.
When he retired {at 39 because of injuries sustained working} my very wise and loving husband {now deceased} gave me a bumper sticker that read: Retirement: Half as much money, Twice as much HUSBAND!
I agree with Susan001–If he’s a wizard, why doesn’t he change his lot in life? Why does he put up with all the bleeep he puts up with? And why oh why does he kowtow to the Fink?
Hey Sunshine 77 I too had to retire because of injuries while at work when I was in my early 20. Did your husband get tired of people telling him how lucky they thought he was? I thank God everyday for my wife… Like you I would guess she has had to be strong and most days even stronger then I am. Because of all the things I’m lucky for being retired at such and young age was none of them! I’m 50 now and I still find myself waking up and feeling so much despair about not having to get up and go to work.
I do have a new philosophy however: After more than 12 knee operations between both knees, and two on my low-back I have come to the conclusion… Ten years ago when I thought the amount of pain I was end was all I could bare now ten years later I find myself wishing I could hurt the GOOD again. So now I think ten years from now I’m going to be wishing the same thing about now. So I might just as well feel good now and not wait for the next ten years to pass!
My uncle Thomas turned 60 today; gave him a call on behalf of his late baby sister (1953-2004). He said something about being at a high school where they’re learning how to make pizza.
Just ten more months until my father becomes that age.

Sunshine77 and Susan001 - the problem is that he isn’t a very good wizard, he’s probably afraid his magic would make things worse (it usually does)

he magic cant be any worse than her cooking….
