neverenoughgold; kea: When you factor in that heat, the heat of generating that part of electricity, the carbon dioxide (and other stuff) dumped into the atmosphere by fossil-fueled generators, and the fact that even more is coming from factories, corporate offices, and vehicles, it is a significant part of global warming.
@hippogriff: unless you’ve got solar panels. In which case you can enjoy all the AC you want—my electricity bill after a heat wave here was zero, with zero guilt.
