I had an Aunt Ruthie; she taught grammar school in the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s. Once on a streetcar, she thought she saw a parent of one of her students so she said hello. The gentleman turned around with a quizzical look on face. Realizing her mistake, Aunt Ruthie said, “I am so sorry, I thought you were the father of one of my children.” The man hurriedly got off at the very next stop.

Our family has hundreds of Aunt Ruthie stories.
