I was in retail for years, before everyplace had scanners…. used some early computerised registers and plenty of SKU’s and PLU’s…But I have never heard of anybody memorising them on purpose.You might remember them for a few really popular items… certainly not for all the colors of a pattern.
The codes are on the product labeling. Today’s stores mostly have scanners that read them and also enter the price. Before scanners, or in stores without them, still, you type them into the register.
NO store would trust all the employees to remember a few hundred of them correctly.
Us Fellers and Rshive…yeah….and you use them at the Automated Teller Machine Machine.

A PIN number is a Personal Identification Number number, Perhaps you mean just a PIN Claire.
