Scavengers seem disgusting, but they are the only animals that (typically) don’t kill anything. Most species kill plants, animals, bugs, or a combination of them.
Actually, most people (including me) are scavengers. We don’t harvest or hunt; we go to the store and pick up dead things to eat.
The vultures down here in Florida do a great job of disposing of roadkill. I wish we had as many up in Michigan, tired of looking at bloated gas bags with four legs pointing into the area on all the roads.
