why pay for a pet, when you can rescue one for free?
My cat was 5 lbs with 5 kittens when they found her. needless to say, she is well-tended, and a GREAT pet!
At present I have three: 1 bought from a breeder; 1 “bought” from the animal shelter; and 1 free-rescued from the streets.
The “free” one may well be the most expensive dog I have ever owned-lots of health issues.
Rescuing one from a shelter nowadays is getting rather expensive.
Oh, by the way, I love ‘em all!
I had a fourth, another “free” rescue, but I gave him to my Uncle who had just lost his dog.
The little dog looks like a Papillon. I have 3 rescued Papillons myself. I work with a wonderful organization called “Papillon Haven Rescue” www.paphaven.org

Rescued dogs make some of the best pets too. Voice of experience here.

I’ll agree, but from the cat point of view. :) All of mine have been/are rescues…

My cat’s a rescue, too…..and he show’s his appreciation a little too often with little “presents” he brings to the house.

Be they from a breeder or a shelter, just as long as they are loved.

“With a family in Victoria”?
Oh dear.
If that’s what I think it means, I’m sorry, Adrian.
