I finally found a good mechanic that didn’t try to rip me off because I’m a woman. Priceless!! I send all kinds of business his way. It pays to be honest.
$11,000 doesn’t sound bad for an engine. You owe $12,000. Its worth $3,000. Say, did you know you could own this $3,000,000 house with no down payment and just pay $850 a month?
What kind of car does she drive anyway. 11,000 sounds a little steep.
When my old car died from a cascade engine failure, it was going to cost 12,000 to get it road worthy again. The car cost $10,000 new. But then again my car needed an engine, steering rack, shocks & struts, breaks, rear bumper, complete rewiring, and several floor panels replaced. The tran’y was rebuilt three years earlier, but it did not shift correctly (the mechanic thought it might be part of the electrical system problem). There was several other things too that were not safety related. Best of all for the last 3 years of it’s life, the speedometer only worked with the high beams on (and not the low beams or the daytime running lights (high beams on half power)).

Okay, it’s a pricy job, but not $11,000 dollars! Get another quote.
Maybe they live in a tourist town.

I might know a parrot that’ll cover it up for you for a small fee…

An expensive maintenace lesson. Also, why did she get in the bind of paying more for a car than it is worth? Another lesson.
