see, in yesterday’s chicken murder mystery , someone asked how I thought the csi team should look for the killer’s dna on the back of the chicken….my clue to that apparently nonsensical statement was ” it’s finger licking good, folks”
see , if the killer was col. sanders and he licked his fingers just before shoving the chicken……
oh, never mind….that IS kinda lame, afterall…..
I take it back , and I bow to the analytical genius and person of great experience and knowledge that is he who challenged my idiot comment
I never cease to be astounded by the fact that it always seems to be the most puritanical among us who unfailingly infer evil or lascivious meaning into the most innocent of comments.
By the way Ushindi, since no one has explained it yet, the pigeon positioned between the old man’s feet is actually tying his shoe laces together. (I can see this clearly because on my computer I have the special ability to enlarge the cartoon by clicking my mouse on the image.) When he gets up to leave, he will trip, fall, and quite possibly, break a hip.
That is an evil thing for the pigeon to do to the man who fed him. The other pigeon are undoubtedly in cahoots with him. I fail to see the humor in such pigeon activity.
It’s a harmless(?) prank that I’ve seen pulled on unsuspecting people, usually while they are sleeping. No, it isn’t funny, except to see birds acting like silly people.
Thanks, jtp - my regular explainer was too busy teaching nighthawks a well-deserved lesson to have the time to let us know what the joke was actually about. I was confused…
It’s my pleasure Ushindi. In times of need, sometimes you have to just step up to the plate and do what needs to be done.
If I’m able to understand the complexity of a cartoon, I’ll try to do my best to educate the less fortunate. Today’s strip seemed a little tricky, so I’m glad that I could do my part.

That’s what happens when they hang out with Bert from Sesame Street. And I’m sure we all know how evil Bert is!

I only WISH I could feed the other birds without attracting pigeons. I do things to frighten them, but it also frightens the good birds.
And the dots are not here again… I wonder why so often missing

We need to feed the Redtail hawks. I hear they eat pigeons. Luckily I’m too far away from cities to have to suffer these birds.

I believe Tom Lehrer had the right idea with his song about the pigeons.

Pigeons sure taste good, though…
(nighthawks: I’m glad to see you’re big enough to apologize to the man who has to explain the comics to us - if he didn’t, who would?)
