Why did a springy hand & birthday greeting stun Dad? It could have been worse: think of “4-and-20 blackbirds baked in a pie” and then look at this Seussian cake pre-cutting (panel 1)! Well, score one for Lio today!
We’ll have his birthday with a cake,
A toast to drink, our thirst to slake
So sound a cheer, and lift your rake
And let folks know without a break
The Suess’s goose may have been baked
But his genius we’ll n’er forsake!
I used to read “Fox in Sox” BACKWARDS out loud to my nieces and nephews (which caused them to give me some VERY strange looks…..) Oddly enough I don’t think I ever read “Happy Birthday to You!” to them, although I did used to read “Dr. Seuss’s Sleep Book” to them, to keep them UP nights…..

A definite Dr. Suess look to the comic today.

He got the glove perfectly. Lio would make his father infarct in the house, He would make his father infarct, with a mouse.

2 March is indeed Theodore Geisel’s birthday.

I’d like to see Lio have to take 500 hats off like Bartholomew Cubbins! (He probably would find the oobleck delightful.)

There was a man named Theodor Who thought that kid’s books were a bore; “Dick and Jane go to the shore”? The children should have something more!
And so he gave a Cat a Hat; A Fox with Socks soon followed that. The Lorax said to care for trees, And Yertle was brought to his knees.
So now let us remember Geisel And be glad he was so weisel; Yell out loudly as a moose, “Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!”
