I told my bank exactly the same thing after they offered to invest my savings. When they invested my aunt’s money, they told us each month they lost less than market!
What banks paying interest ? All they want to do around here is charge interest rates of 10 to 20 per cent to load you money. It is cheaper to go to a loan company and they are nicer ! Bank personnel are as friendly as cacti ! ! !
I don’t pick up change I see lying on the ground—-I leave it in hopes a child will find it (more fun that way), but when I think about how much interest my savings account is making …
Maybe its my frugality showing; but, I will always pick up loose change I find on the ground or floor of a building..Once, while bowling, I saw on the floor a bill. I picked it up, and it was a $100 bill! As I stood there for a few moments, I looked around hoping to see someone stressed because they misplaced some cash. Seeing nothing, I walked over to the front desk, and asked if anyone had reported missing some money. I told the guy behind the counter about the incident, and he said he would hold the money until someone claimed it..I looked at him and told him I would keep it; but, if someone did report missing $100, the person could find me on the lane we were using. Although I suspected someone might conspire with the guy at the front desk; nobody claimed the cash, so I took it home when we were done bowling.
I somehow think that President Reagan had something to do the rates. If I remember correctly, I had a passbook rate of 5.75% just before interest rates were deregulated.

Don’t forget the coin return on vending machines and pay phones, if you can still find a pay phone.

I make less interest now then when I had my passbook savings account in fifth grade.

Not just pluggers – everyone finds more money in parking lots than in interest on savings accounts at today’s rates…

Pennies from heaven are better than a pass book account, now I’m really showing my age.
