Sorry for getting back so late! You can find the other good suggestions to how to italicize from yesterday. But the method I use is the underscore ( _ ) . For example,

“This is an _ example _ " (I spaced it out, so you can see where it goes, but you are supposed to put the underscores directly in front of and behind the word/s that you want to italicize.) – So "This is an _ example _ " will look like this: “This is an example “. – And also make sure that you do leave a space between the underscored word, and the words that you don’t want underscored, or else, it will look like this:

This is an_example_”.
