Clayton: Stay calm. Adam: Okay, Clayton. Are you ready for this? Clayton: I think so. Adam: This is a big day in a young man's life. You need to be in the proper head space. Clayton: I know. It's a "rite" of passage". Is it time? Adam: Almost. Come on. Let's get suited up. Clayton: I'm kind of nervous. Katy: What are dad and Clayton being so serious about? Laura: Don't ask. Adam: And thusly, boy becomes man!

Just don’t live in an apartment. Here in Ohio, anyway, they don’t trust us with grills.

Flipping a hamburger is a serious day in a young man’s life? Seriously?

I don’t usually like Adam and skip the comic, however I can agree with some of the above comments and the comic today. I don’t have a boy, just girls, and the BBQing is left to me, but across the back of our property the neighbour and his son went through the same ritual. I thought “Yep that is a rite of passage” and so did my wife. This was a good capture of the moment.

Say what you will, grilling is a big deal to most guys and it means a lot to a son when his dad finally lets him help. My hubby never did the grilling, it was always me. I passed the tongs and spatula to my oldest son but there was no ritual because I’m the mom.

As soon as I was willing to grill, it became my job from then on. Mainly because everyone else was too lazy. I liked doing it though, so I didn’t mind.

I love grillin’………….My Mountain Man never did get the hang of it, so it was no big deal. Now, I’ve really mastered the “smoking” thing………
Pulled pork anyone?

Phew! During the first few frames, I was sure Clayton and Dad were going to have the proverbial “birds and bees discussion”!.Knowing Clayton is still quite young, I was happy to see it was about “burgers and bratwurst”…

You do know where hamburger comes from, don’t you? There is no burger vine, Rib Eye tree or poultry tuber…
