If I remember Reggie correctly, I’m safe in saying he won’t put up with that for long.

My significant other (soon to be living under a bridge) put a Yankees sweater on one of MY cats yesterday. Does Home Depot sell Fenway Park cat playscapes?

Reminds me of a Bugs Bunny cartoon…Bugs gets stuck on a plantation Down South, the bulldog an the plantation gives Bugs a hard time, until Bugs dresses the dog in a Yankees road uniform. The plantation owner sees bulldog (named Belvedere), gets outraged, and says, “Belvedere, you’re a Yankee? “, then promptly kicks the dog off the plantation, and keeps Bugs for a while…

A brief Announcement… just in case anything delays me later…

Nighthawks has posted that after today’s Cleo and Company strip for Friday February 28th, 2020,

he’ll run a special Leap Year Day strip for tomorrow, Saturday, the 29th, temporarily displacing the Saturday puzzle.

The thing is, there WAS no February 29th in 2010….

which means we’ll be squeezing it in, by commenting HERE, on the February 28th, 2010 “Ballard Street” strip, for BOTH DAYS.

That way, our March 2020 calendar will stay in sync:

The usual Saturday puzzle will run on Sunday, March first…

And we’ll solve and discuss it on the March first 2010 Ballard Street.

    Thanks!

Meanwhile… I was right to think I might be delayed…

I’m not quite home yet, but it turns out I have a moment to use my phone, to welcome you to the Feb 28th Cleo, anyway…

    A word of warning though…

If you have any sort of unfortunate pun allergy or humor absorption deficiency, you might want to avoid it…

Or at least, prepare yourself with a dose of paronomasia intolerance medication.

I learned something by reading it, though….

I’d never realised that a person or a dog could be banned for puns!

Woe is me… or is that “whoa?”

I’d better make nun… even though I’m often in the habit.

It’s a good thing, perhaps, that, like Napoleon Basset, I’m coming up short.

    That reminds me…

As some of you may know, there was a human Napoleon, as well.

You have probably heard that he was short, like Napoleon Basset.

That turns out to be probably untrue.

The oft-repeated “myth-take” apparently stems from mockery and cartoons in a time when France and England were enemies.

His height was reported in the somewhat longer French inches, when measurements were not standardised… which made him sound shorter.

Rather than being converted, the measurement was purposely siezed upon and lampooned in the British press.

I had some Elba once. They hold dip real well, but I wouldn’t recommend it for people with soft teeth.

    And…. here we are….

    I say… I say… here we are…

    WE… are…

    (Where are we?)

Back again to comment on the February 29th, 2020 “Cleo and Company” … on Sherpa.

Where Cleo is doing what I’m sure she’s been asked to do at least a couple of times in her life…

    She’s taking a flying leap.

    Not to worry, though ..

(In fact, I was a bit worried, because we don’t see her landing…

    Till I figured this out.)

    She’ll be ok.

Cos she’s the STAR of this here shebang…

Neither Clara and Claude, nor the Cleo and Company legal department,

world be letting her do this… nor would their insurance companies…

If they didn’t know every security precaution had been taken.

In fact, please forgive me for this thought….

I wouldn’t be surprised if one of those precautions was either the use of an indoor studio, and a green screen…

Or… um… for a big star like Cleo Clifford… maybe even a stunt double.

I’m taking a leap of faith here – if you, @Nighthawks and @StelBel, don’t want me to post that direct link (because it may lessen the click-count on sherpa as was suggested to me), please tell me.

Glad I waited longer than usual. Was kinda concerned the evil cat may have replaced the chute with a backpack full of silverware.

And once again a Stel-lar performance by our intrepid bassett.

Hey @Nighthawks – When the Evil Cat Next Door (made famous by The Mysterious @katina.cooper) told Cleo to take a flying leap that’s NOT what she meant.

Happy Leap Year Day, Cleoites. I always enjoy an extra day! Since it’s Cleaning Lady Saturday, we get to go shopping. WooHoo!

Great animation today! Love those ears and jowls flapping. And, as always, I stay for the ending screen credits for any extra fun. Today was sweet.
