Ain’t that the truth. Whether it be a Green vote or Libertarian or the Constitution Party, a third party vote is at best wasted. It might make you feel better but it never advances your cause.
At its worst a third vote may actually hinder your cause. The most glaring example was Ross Perot, pulling mostly GOP votes away from Bush. Those voters were seeking a more conservative fiscal policy. They got Bill Clinton instead.
Teddy Roosevelt. Robert La Follette. George Wallace. The voters who supported them got saddled with the very candidate/party they were trying to defeat.
