When the mud monster just started to talk, she was, of course, semi-intelligible. I decided to learn her language and let her pick up on mine at her convenience.
Drove my wife nuts! I could talk to the kid, but she couldn’t….
(NBD – her vocabulary was about 30 words.)
Shortly afterwards, when she’d developed some ability in my language, she noticed that the dog didn’t talk. (She’d thought that he was a somewhat self-directed stuffed animal!) She asked me: “Will Spunky be able to talk when he gets bigger?” Couldn’t explain that the answer was no, and that he was about ten years old.
(Very smart dog, though!)
The kid thought that she was a dog, btw, until my sister’s four little ones turned up. They taught her to walk.

I’ve heard worse. At least it’s still intelligible. Some people go ’round the bend.

It’s nice to see Sue has something nice to say about someone other than herself.

I’d love it if Sue were able to hear Leela’s pithy remarks!
