I’m sorry, HectorPriam, but your exegesis leaves a whole lot to be desired. The “and daughters” born after Seth’s birth no more means that those were the only daughters of Adam than the “sons” following Seth’s birth means that Cain and Abel were not Adam’s sons or that they had to be born after Seth. The family table of Genesis 5 follows a very strict formulaic structure, and says nothing about other children that might have preceded the named child, who is the next step in the lineage being presented. An important principle is that absence of mention is not at all the same thing as absence of existence.

If they hadn’t eaten that fruit they’d still be living in the garden but they’d be dumb as dirt.
All things cornsidered, it’s better to have knowledge of good and evil. Then when you’re being one, you can at least fantasize about being the other.
