Lonewolf, I don’t think they’re bucking for anything; there’s something pointless about these three. Does any of this make sense?

Could be that bucks lose their antlers in winter, and so they engage in pointless activity. D’OH!

Ah, mea culpa. I would have thought that new growth would have begun by March, but it ain’t necessarily so. I also thought antler buds would be visible year-round, but I can’t find confirmation of that.
