There have always been heat waves followed by drought, storms followed by floods, and tornados followed by the Red Cross. It is always worse because they had not experienced it before and it is more personal than the disasters on the news cast. The GOP position on global warming is absolutely consistent: there is no global warming. And if there is, we didn’t cause it. And if we did, it’s too late to fix it. And if it’s not too late, it’s too expensive.
It’s not a fraud. It’s just very, very complicated. Which puts it waaaaay beyond Irv’s comprehension. He couldn’t figure out how to finish up leaching off his kid.
The oceans have heated very little, the polar ice is thickening, weather patterns have changed since the beginning of time, etc. There’s this thing in the sky called the sun that has profound effects on what happens here on earth. Full disclosure: I didn’t learn this on TV, I learned it in Science class.
