Male Emperor moths can smell females from more than 6 miles away. 98% of people adopted in Japan are adult males in their 20s and 30s. Followers of spiritual guru Ashutosh Maharaj placed him in a freezer after his apparent death in January 2014 because they believe he is not dead, but simply meditating deeply.

Mr. Maharaj probably has the weirdest death case as of this year.

@Templo: the “medititation” was just a cover story. The real deal was that “meditating in deep freeze” = “alive but unavailable”.
The people who controlled his fortune stood to lose a lot if he had been declared dead and his will executed.

The “adoption” thing is men who take their wife’s family name at marriage because she doesn’t have any brothers. I’ve conducted quite a few such weddings.

I sense a ground floor opportunity in multilevel marketing, selling body wash to the emperor moth population.

Look up “Frozen Dead Guy Days” to see what they do in Nederland, Colorado with their departed friend.

He’s not meditating! He’s passed on! This guru is no more! He has ceased to be! He’s expired and gone to meet his maker! He’s a stiff! Bereft of life, he rests in peace! If you hadn’t thrown him in the freezer, he’d be pushing up the daisies! His metabolic processes are now history! He’s off the twig! He’s kicked the bucket, he’s shuffled off his mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin’ choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-GURU!!

I wonder if Japan will take a foreigner. I know a few parents here in the US who wouldn’t mind adopting their 20-something year old sons.

What did you learn today?
98% of people adopted in Japan can smell Ashutosh Maharaj from more than six miles away. After all, he’s been dead since January.

If you can smell a woman for 6 miles away I think she has a problem.
