Today’s comic shows the affection that Andy has for his mother-in-law, despite all of her flaws and meddlesome ways.
To brush off her mean-spirited remark, Andy as usual has taken the high road and countered with a humorous joke that she will enjoy. There are several other responses that he could have made that might have upset her. For instance, “sarcasm is our body’s natural defense against stupidity” would be one.

Andy keeps mocking at his mother in law about funny hat. What kind of funny hat does Mother in law wear? Maybe Mother in law has the same one just like Opal’s red hat.
