The only problem would be the post-goal screaming, followed by the 5 minutes of arguing with the director that the ball didn’t actually go in the goal.
If goalies had sabers, that raises the possibility of half the ball reaching the goal and half going wide. That would make scorekeeping more interesting…

It would depend on when the kicker’s lead foot hit the ground, naturally. Not to mention whether or not Edith prepped before actually making the save.
