This comic premiered on my birthday, all the way back in 1967.

Charles Schultz suffered from life long self hatred , caused by bullies. This self destuction kept him from doing what he really wanted to do. Sell the dailies to the syndicate . Created a sunday only strip title Snoopy and Woodstock and Pals. In the 70s so he could create specials inculding "Why are theyā€™re no holidays in August Charlie Brown? ". .

Why tennis ball mouth? From catching tennis balls? Why not baseball mouth or softball mouth?

Somehow I donā€™t see Snoopy playing fetch. In a later strip, when Rerun wanted him to fetch a stick, Snoopy threw the stick off a cliff.

Pongo likes to make the ball muddy and wet, and I suspect it its to get the tennis ball taste off of the ball

Nice of Snoopy to pretend heā€™s a dog for an afternoon.

Snoopy did a lot of fetching over the years, sometimes cheerfully but more often reluctantly. Tennis balls have ā€œfurā€, thus the dreaded ā€œtennis ball mouth.ā€ In one early sequence, Snoopy was fetching soap bubbles! (This later gave him a different bad taste in his mouth.) One other arc had Snoopy refusing to fetch for Linus over the course of several days. Then he did, which gave Linus a bit of a shockā€¦ā€¦ā€¦

When my cousinā€™s dog, Jasper was a puppy (I was about 10 years old at the time) I would play ā€˜catchā€™ with him using a tennis ball and it was covered in slobber everytime I got it from him so I had to keep washing my hands.R.I.P Jasper.xxx

@Snoopy_FanHiya Snoopy_Fan. I hope you are well and Iā€™m glad you enjoyed The Beatles albumā€¦ twice! There are some classic songs on there. -As you know, I gave blood on Tuesday. It went very well. I took 4 minutes, 24 seconds to donate so did not beat my record of 4 minutes, 8 seconds from last time. I was so busy chatting to the kind nurse and my Mum who came with me that I almost didnā€™t have time to say ā€œLinda, this is for youā€ but I did say it in a whisper.-I always feel so great about myself after each donation. Iā€™m sure you know that feeling because you used to be a blood donor. I hope you get the chance to donate again very soon. Tell me when you do so I can root for you!-My arm is a little bruised because the needle hurt a little. This was my 9th blood donation. On my next one, Iā€™ll get a ā€˜Bronzeā€™ award which is a badge and certificate as itā€™ll be my 10th donation. I made my first donation on 13th January, 2012. I was 17 then. Are you proud of me? -Anyway, I wonā€™t bore you any longer as Iā€™m sure youā€™ll want to get on with other stuff.-May you have a blessed weekend. I will be thinking about you! With Love,Annelise xxx
