Either I been VERY lucky,but when I had XP I never updated and never ever had a prob .That Dell’s (after 9 yrs) power supply blew up .hahahaha ! I now have Win8.0 (for 18 mons. ) and do not update ! No probs so far !
I stop updating back when it seemed that every update was to fix the screwed up update before !
We have a toaster made by Kitchenaid that lowers the bread and raises the finished toast with motors. It is a classic example of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should”!.It does make nice toast, however…

I do miss the older toasters, before they claimed to “sense” how toasted your bread is, and when they toasted quickly and evenly.
