Confused. Letters attached to balloons usually mean sending the letter to heaven? aka, the recipient is deceased? or in this case, is Heart’s dad really still alive but elsewhere?

i’m fairly recent to this strip, so i was wondering if there has been some backstory about heart’s dad.

this one reminds me of mt’s great lio christmas strip, where we find out about lio’s mom. i still get the sniffles when i think about that one.

I’ve been following this strip quite a while and i dont remember ever hearing anything about the dad. anyone know the story?

There you go, ruining the sentiment again. Blasted cynics probably grew up with Dad…Two daughters later, I’m glad I married and stayed and didn’t strangle them when they deserved it. So far they haven’t strangled me when I deserve it either. :)

Does Heart want to be an actress, she lacks a certain part for actor, so she can meet her father ?

Actually they had a story about her dad a while back. he was a Broadway actor And Heart saw a story about him in the paper. So Heart ran away to NY with dean to see him but it was to late. and to end the story Addy came to pick her up and she never got to see him! The story has a really sad ending! ):
