Not for fetching, no, Nelson. But a tortoise does have a mystic all its own.

If Nelson had a tortoise he’d only have to throw the Frisbee about once a day.

Just enjoy playing with Roscoe while you can, Nelson. I’m sure he is enjoying it a lot also.

I mentioned one other time that I have a guard turtle. You can’t play fetch with him. He likes to roam the back yard and catch bugs - well slow bugs. When I take him out front, he likes to chase the neighbor dogs away. Well not so much chase, but he lets them sniff and sort of lunges toward them and they run. We have a shallow area in the back for him so he can get wet and water. He eats lettuce and gets water that way too. He got the reputation of being a guard turtle cause one time when we had visitors and he was “running” through the house he came up and attacked one of the visitors sock and he hung on and would not let go. They left and did not come back but that was OK since they were Jehovah’s Witnesses.
