When he’s good he’s good, but when he’s bad, he’s better.

Don’t ask a question if you won’t like the answer.

They have a good marriage. They know each other through and through, best and worst, for all those years, and they’re still together. When it comes right down to it, you respect each other as human beings, no matter what, and you keep a sense of humor, no matter what, and it just works.

My Better Half – and I say that with no irony at all – and I have been together for almost 43 years. We’re not as old as Earl and Opal (or at least we look a heck of a lot better!), but I’m looking forward to getting there. Maybe a lot of it is just luck that things work out one way instead of another, but however it is, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. :)

Who could look better than Earl and Opal? we have been married 56 years and often in public someone will ask “how long have you been married?” & i know it is because of the way we go on. The beauty of truth and humor! Long may it live!

His best was when he was single with opal…They did a lot of messing around. The worst was after they were married. They all change………………………………….

Everyone changes with time, Vegas Viper.

With luck, a married couple change in complementary (probably not the same) directions. Without that luck, you have to work a little harder at mutual self-respect and your sense of humor (especially toward your own ego), but it can be done. And there’s nothing in this life to compare to it.

Marriage is spelled F-O-R-G-I-V-E-N-E-S-S. She’s for me and I keep giving to keep the ness.
