At least he was honest, I have seen some people walk around the store carrying an open can of soda and always speculated if they were going to pay for it or leave it stashed in an aisle.
I’m hypoglycemic. I often open something and eat it in the store while shopping if my blood sugar has suddenly and unexpectedly dropped. I always pay for it, though!
I have often opened a box of facial tissues bought in the store before checking out. I also had blood draws in the pharmacy section of stores in the past, and taken along my own “breakfast bar” but eaten that at one of their deli tables with a fresh banana and a single serve yogurt after my fast before driving home. I’m not sure whether they charged at the deli or at check out (believe it was the latter).
They have to have candy in the stores early. You have early shoppers. After one group buys, they stock up for the next group and so on. If they stocked all the candy that they were going to sell at one time, they wouldn’t have storage room for it all.

If Honeybunch was with him she’d be buying Christmas decorations (or maybe Valentine’s Day candy…)

There has been Halloween candy in the stores since before Labor Day. He must love August and September too.
