I sympathize w/mullet man. I don’t want to spend money for the doctor to tell me something I already know or to prescribe something I can live without. I trust the skills of our doctors, but not necessarily their motives. Also, I didn’t have health insurance when I lived in Utah for many years, so all the more reason to avoid unnecessary doctor visits.
And now, even when I have insurance, they tried to prescribe me blood pressure medicine. “I’ll take the vitamin D,” I said, “but I’ll pass on the BP medicine.” Nurse: “But this is serious, you could…” Me: “I have life insurance, it’s all good.” She didn’t think that was funny. (But I did.)

But seeing a doctor isn’t manly. Toughing out injuries is part of the “macho mystique…” especially, apparently, head injuries.
Believe me. I live in Utah.

I lived in UT until recently, too.
