In 30 years the voters will be suspicious of anyone who doesn’t have naked pictures. What are they trying to hide? And how will the people be able to vote without knowing who has the biggest fun parts?
Yes, expectations will change, but for every exibitionist in front of a mirror, there’s more who would just as soon remain under wraps..Don’t forget the “I never inhaled” line from the college man of the 60’s running for pres. If rumors of getting high in school are enough to cause a flap, just think when half the population is able to be legally labled a “child sex offender” because they took and/or posted underage picts of themselves or their friends?
The Canadian-U.S. border is the longest undefended border in the world….Not only don’t they want to come here, they actively discourage us from going there except as tourists….
MayKitten: Huh? Part of it is that you only vote for one office (MP in federal, MLA in provincial), bear pits (open debate with audience input) campaigning, a shut off of campaigning 24 hours before voting, and vote count is out loud in the middle of a school gym witnessed up close by representatives of each candidate and recorded by the citizenry in the stands, making recounts rarely needed..Varnes: It used to be, but not any more. Now you need a passport and effectively pre-clearance on both side, both coming and going. Back in the old days, I, a US citizen, got far more trouble from US than Canadian guards.

Does this cartoon have anything to do with the rumor that there are pictures of naked people on the InterWebNet?

Those people already don’t care… so 20 years from now when they run for office they still won’t care…and the voters their age won’t care, either.

…never mind the number of people who hold office high…

Depends what that high office is suppose to be; is it on a pedestal? They are already there for everyone to see.

Dani Rice: I remember a letter to the editor back in the ’70s: “If Britain can hold an election in a month, why does Canada take six weeks?”
