I think the teacher’s panel 3 statement was uncalled for. Just because Cynthia expected more magnificent results doesn’t mean she’s never been unpleasantly surprised before.
The Teachers response is cockeyed anyway, Cynthia was doing an experiment, teacher should have asked what Cynthia did expect, not try to score some bizarre moral point.
Actually, speaking as one who has taught, it’s amazing the number of students who expect reality to conform to their expectations. I think it has something to do with them living inside their various electronic boxes—the concept of measuring the physical world seemed to be foreign to them.
