When I could afford presents I would buy a new roll or two of wrapping paper and save the remainder for the following year. Now I have lots of pieces left for a collage and no money for presents.
Hate when that happens. Mom solved this one year when I was a kid… she got a big roll of brown “paper bag” paper, and wrapped everything in that, with a festive bow. Then years later came gift bags…
I think everyone who ever wrapped presents had that ‘just enough on the roll to fool you into thinking there’s some on the roll’ moment.I used to buy Christmas wrapping paper in the post-Christmas sales, save 50%, and stash them in the closet until I needed it. (At that price, I could buy extra.)

Time to hide the present while going to buy another roll (or few hundred) of wrapping paper.

The same phenomenon often occurs with toilet paper, aluminum foil, and paper towels, incidentally!

I think the wrapping paper is reproducing on its own at our home!

We liked to use the colored funnies from the paper for gift wrap.

That’s exactly the sort of ‘sticky’ situation that Jon would get into!

Years ago, I had a “punk” Christmas where everything was wrapped in newspaper and secured with safety pins.

And that was a new roll too. Never buy your wrapping paper at a half off sale in a dollar store.

I wonder who’s present that is.
