Mom! Bobby hit me! Can I hit him back? Okay, new house rule! Any hit kid must hit back with power that is some ratio from 0 to 1 of the prior hit. The two of you must select the ratio. 3 weeks later... Oh my God! What happened?! If the ratio is 0, only the initial hitter hits, so it's not fair. If the ratio is between 0 and 1 the punches weekend over time, but the first striker still gets hit less. The only fair ratio is 1/1. But since the punches don't we can win you get infinite punches. The only way to create fairness and end violence is to pick a ratio so close to 1/1 that to consecutive punches feel the same. We settled on 99999/100000 We expect punch strength to become negligible around the 200,000th punch. Oh my God. Oh. My. God. Soon... My kids can do real analysis

Real analysis, yes. But my kids can do aikido, which leaves fewer visible scars.

It still isn’t fair, but at least they can prove it mathematically.
