Gweedo and Dry, I only wish. This is the family cabin my mother-in-law owns in Plevna, Ontario. She owns 250 acres up there. The drawback about a) being prevented by health issues from driving and b) not being able to afford a car anyway is that we depend on others to drive us up so we only get up there for family weekends.
It must be Karma. I just discovered this strip, and I have ten cats. I do my best to serve them, but they need a full staff…..I also have dogs, rabbits, llamas, guinea fowl, and one chicken. There’s always room for more.
everyone: I’m sorry about the “full resolution” Pic. It was funny and I thought by going to the site itself it would not come out that way, alas.packratjohn, Welcome to the family! We’d love to hear how you came to have 10 cats!Ruth: Your cats eye tree was so Halloweenish, I loved it too.Rikki: Awwww, I just want to scoop her up and love on her!
Anyone notice a puffy orangy tail on the tree’s side? Besides, with his big mouth Chesney can call attention to his plight. Woof…join in the singing!!!!
It is on a hill about 30 feet up and several hundred feet back from the road. 5 acres are cleared and the house is on that, there is also a large shed/garage where the air hockey, ping pong tables are stored along with fishing gear, canoes, and other essentials. The house can actually be lived in year-round but hubby and his brothers will probably go up by mid-November to drain the pipes and turn off the water, empty and clean the fridge, strip the beds and store the linens, and make sure the electricity is turned off except for the alarm system.
Welcome, Packratjohn! I found the deed to my house (which my parents bought in 1956 and I grew up in) and it was built in 1846. Not ancient by Boston standards, but still pretty old. It’s a cool house.

I notice the mice aren’t in on this celebration of the ‘tree’ they created. Love the picture of the cat looking up at the tree.
